School Profile
PAS Program - Plan, Act and Succeed
The PAS Program at CVHS serves approximately 60 students, offering a supportive path to on-time graduation through consistent attendance, dedicated effort, and positive behavior.
Students may qualify for a modified school day (8:35 a.m. – 1:55 p.m.), though a full day (8:35 a.m. – 3:25 p.m.) may be required if attendance or academic progress needs improvement.
Referral and Enrollment The PAS Program is an entirely voluntary opportunity. Students are typically referred by their counselors at Chi-Hi, and enrollment is finalized through a joint decision by the counselors and principals at both Chi-Hi and Chippewa Valley High School.
GAP - Graduate through Alternative Pathways
The GAP Program is Chippewa Falls' local version of the state-approved GEDO 2 Program. It utilizes GED testing alongside relevant coursework to help students meet high school diploma requirements.
This program requires 100% attendance, and any missed time must be made up. Students are formally contracted into the program after demonstrating consistent attendance, significant effort, and positive behavior over a predetermined period. The GAP Program is specifically designed to support highly motivated, credit-deficient students who have a clear plan for their future and a strong desire to earn their diploma.
Transition Program
The Transition Program is a short-term option for students moving between programs at CVHS or Chi-Hi. It primarily serves two groups: grade 13 students who are working to complete their diploma, and students transitioning to another educational program at the semester. Additionally, students who are experiencing challenges in other CVHS programs may be placed here until specific expectations are met.
Please note that the school day may be modified based on individual circumstances.
All programs at CVHS focus on post-high school planning and personal growth. We encourage positive behavior by helping students develop essential virtues like self-discipline, flexibility, perseverance, and gratitude, setting them up for success in school and in life.
Chippewa Valley High School serves students who are at risk of not completing their education. Our Alternative Programs focus on credit remediation, core skill development, and vocational preparation. We also emphasize social skill development and provide support for non-academic challenges that may interfere with a student's success. Character education is woven throughout our curriculum. While our immediate goal is high school graduation, we ultimately aim to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career and a fulfilling life.
